BioClear Skin Tag/Wart Treatment Reviews

Skin tags and warts trouble a great many people and it is tempting to look into what cost effective remedies can be purchased over the internet or in store.

BioClear is a name that comes up on search. This product is available on Amazon, Telegraph shop and other stores online. The main ingredient is said to be Thuja Occidentalis, an essential homeopathic active oil, and is sold as a product for use at home for treating both skin tags and warts.

The Amazon description reads:

“Forget costly surgery, or painful alternatives – if you suffer with unsightly skin tags and want to remove them pain-free, Bio Clear is the affordable answer! The secret formula is clinically proven and works on even the most sensitive of areas and is renowned for its effectiveness in removing skin tags.
A simple application on the affected area will leave your skin feeling soft and silky once the skin tag has dried up and dropped off.”

The Telegraph Shop does indicate it will take longer to see results, saying

“Simply apply a small amount to the affected area three times daily and allow up to six weeks for visible results.”

Skin Tag and Wart Treatments

Doctor-Led

Skin tags and warts can be very stubborn to treatment. The most effective option is to have the skin tag or wart removed by a doctor or surgeon, who has been trained in the latest removal methods.  There are a number of options, depending on the nature of the skin lesion:

  • Cryotherapy (freezing treatment). Use of intense cold to destroy the hanging skin tag so that it falls off and the skin can heal
  • Laser treatment (or microcautery). A special medical device which removes the skin tag and cauterises the area so that it can heal
  • Surgery. Minor surgical procedure using local anaesthetic to numb the area before the skin tag is ‘snipped off’. This would be used for especially large skin tags or sensitive areas where cryotherapy/laser are not suitable (e.g. genital areas)

Cryotherapy is the fastest solution but more effective with smaller blemishes.  Surgery is very effective, but only for the most severe. The most appropriate skin tag removal or wart removal treatment is determined after examination of the affected area.
