Same Day Treatment for Milia

Our team of fully qualified and UK accredited doctors and surgeons are available in a choice of clinics to remove milia quickly and painlessly, leaving smoother, clearer skin.

Milia often appear on the upper parts of the face around the cheeks and eyes. They often look like small white spots. Patients often try squeezing them but to no avail as they are unlikely to just pop as one would imagine. This is because even though they look easy to pop they are encased in tough shell that means they won’t disperse unless done by making a small cut or hole to evacuate the contents.

They are harmless lesions and can be left, but often grow with time. If they become cosmetically unacceptable, milia are easily removed. They often leave little scratch like marks for a day or so after but don’t tend to scar if they are done properly.

Treatment Options

This is the simplest and cheapest option for the removal of milia. Treatment is either via making a sterile incision with special needles or making a small hole to extrude the contents and sac through.

No local anaesthetic is often needed and it only takes a few minutes to do.

Milia can often by quite deep and larger than they look, so care should be taken when looking for suitable professionals to remove them.

Many patients will try to treat milia in the same way as they may treat a spot – by squeezing it.

However, this is not recommended. It can lead to irritation, inflammation, skin damage, infection and long-term scarring.
