Penile Moles

While the connection with sun exposure is well known, moles can appear literally anywhere on the body, even areas that haven’t seen the sun.

Male Genital Moles

Moles on the male genitalia affect many of the UK population. They could include:

  • Penile moles (moles on the penis)
  • Scrotal moles (moles on the scrotum)
  • Groin moles

Moles that can appear in the genital area can be particularly embarrassing and awkward, especially when they are in a noticeable position, or are especially large or raised.

This is an area where a person needs to feel most confident with their own body and although the moles might not be deemed suspicious, many people do wish to get rid of them for aesthetic reasons.

Penile mole removal

Moles that are deemed to be non-suspicious cannot unfortunately be removed on the NHS.

However, private mole removal is available with organisations such as Skin Surgery Laser Clinic who have a selection of clinics based in London and Bristol. Moles are removed using the latest surgical techniques including laser mole removal; with trained doctors and surgeons.

Most moles can be removed under local anaesthetic so there should be very little pain or discomfort.

The doctor or surgeon will advise on aftercare (you might have to abstain from sexual intercourse for a little while after the operation while the wound heals).
